In 1991, under the technical directorship of Jean-Pierre Gerber, Zenith set about developing a mass-produced in-house movement to power their new Elite range of watches. By 1994, the range was unveiled and marketed as a “collection that represents a modern interpretation of their earlier dress timepieces.”
As you can see from the pictures, we think they achieved their goal. The watch is ultra-thin, measuring just 7.5mm thick, and thanks to the short lugs, it wears exceptionally well on the wrist. The exhibition caseback adds a real sense of gravitas—it genuinely feels like you're wearing a '90s Calatrava, but for a fraction of the price.
The watch is in superb condition. The case shows mild oxidation, suggesting it has led a relatively sedentary life. The dial and hands are flawless, with no marks or blemishes. The original 18k gold buckle is still present. The movement is in great health—running at -3 s/d, 270 amps, with a beat error of 0.1 ms.
The watch comes complete with its original box, guarantee card, instruction manual, and tag.
