In late 69, Tudor released the 7021, the first Tudor Sub with a date function. The watch came with either a black or a blue dial, a roulette date wheel and a standard all black numbered wheel mainly seen in the latter production numbers. The dial was the all new 'Snowflake' dial as its now called. After working extensively with the MN (Marine Nationale), the feedback was, they needed a dial and hands for that matter, that were more legible under water, especially when operating in low light and murky waters. The design now is synonymous with Tudor and still appears on some of their modern models.

The example we have here is the blue variant with roulette wheel. The dial has the typical bubbling that these are so prone too, however its even and subtle. The 11  marker has one spec of dial rot as its known, the rest are fine. The hands retain their beautiful confetti tritium plots. This is a lume mixture that was used around this time, under uv you see the wonderful red and green micro sparkles, same on the dial plots.

The case has been polished in the past but has been worn since. It has plenty of metal left, the crown guards are nice and even too.  The original crown has survived. The correct era mk5 rough surface insert is in good condition too, no corrosion or cracks.

The bracelet is a 9315 / 380 with 12 links and has the error PATETED clasp extension. This could be original to the watch depending on when it was sold.

We never get bored of seeing these vintage Tudor Subs, we love how they all age differently.
