The Tudor Snowflake Submariner has carved out a niche for itself, drawing comparisons with its Rolex siblings - the renowned 5513 and 1680 models. Initially rolled out in 1973, Tudor launched the new generation Snowflakes, presenting the 9411/0 date version first and then the 9401 in 1975. The main difference from the previous 7*** series is the hacking ETA Calibre 2784 and 2776 movement.
Around the early 80's, owners noticed the dials started to degrade and either bubble or form black spots on the lume plots and hands. Tudor rectified this problem relatively swiftly by changing the paint mixture. In doing so, they made a few subtle changes to denote the new dial. The shield logo became slightly longer and the m and ft symbols were bold text. Watches made from 81 onwards had this new dial variant, this one being from 73 would have had the earlier dial but this was clearly swopped during a service in the 80's.
As you can see the dial is immaculate, some very slight oxidisation on the chrome hands but not noticeable with the eye. The original insert and silver date wheel are also present. The bracelet is the correct 9315/380 but the clasp is later, P1 code meaning Jan 1990. The watch has been serviced in the last few months and is running very well, +2 annd 250 amps.
The watch comes with its box, tag, anchor, punched guarantee papers and wallet.
