The Tudor Date – Day started life in the late 60’s with the 7017, a a larger size than the models thereafter at 37.5mm. It was a watch that lasted until 2007 when Rolex Group decided to discontinue the model indefinitely.
The example we have here dates to 2001 and is the white gold bezel variant of the 76200 range that started life in 1997. From 1999 we see the Oyster disappear on the dial and the use of Luminova as the luminous material. In 1998 Tudor released a bracelet that only came on these watches, the centre links are flat and veery heavy giving the watch a really premium weighty feel when worn.
These Date – Days models really are a such great value, a Datejust 36 with a gold bezel, this new would set you back another 1/2k and this has the day function. The watch comes with its original box and spare links, plus extra end links that fit a leather strap.
