The Seiko 7S36-01G0 is part of the first generation of the Monster line, first introduced in Japan around mid-2000. Initially released for the Asian market and later expanded to North America, four variants were produced. Around 2005, Seiko released three ultra-limited (by Seiko standards) editions for the Thai market, including the watch we have here: the Blue Monster.
Only 1,800 pieces of this version were made, featuring a slightly different movement from the original four variants. It has since become a cult classic among Seiko collectors—alongside the Yellow and Red Monsters. At the time of writing, not a single one is listed for sale worldwide, which is pretty remarkable for a brand that produces millions of watches annually.
This example is in excellent condition. The case is unpolished, and the dial and hands are unmarked. It comes on its original bracelet, which will fit up to a 19 cm wrist.
The movement is running superbly at -3 s/d, 260 amps, with a beat error of 0.3 ms.
I (Stef) will admit—when I first laid eyes on this watch, my gut reaction was: “What on earth is this?” It's not called the Monster for nothing. But after spending some time with it and wearing it a bit, it’s really grown on me. The proportions on the wrist are excellent, and the blue is incredibly vivid in person.
Here’s your chance to own a truly rare Seiko that stands out from the crowd.
