The Rolex Submariner 16610 is arguably the most recognisable member of the Submariner family. It’s the watch that elevated the Submariner from a practical tool watch to a global status symbol. Produced for an impressive 23 years, from 1987 to 2010, the ref. 16610 underwent numerous dial and case variations—tritium, Luminova, Super-Luminova dials; holed case; no-hole case—the list goes on.
The present example is one of the final pre-ceramic Submariners, dating back to 2010, the last year of 16610 production. Features such as the engraved rehaut, upgraded 3135 movement, and solid end links resemble modern Submariners, while the sleek case and aluminium bezel keep this unmistakably a five-digit Rolex.
The watch is in great, honest condition, with minor marks on the case and bracelet. As expected, the dial is flawless. The movement came to us in great health, its running well at 0 s/d, 293 amplitude, and with a 0.5ms beat error. Truly the ‘last of the best’ from Rolex, this piece is ready for its new home.
