The 5513 lineup of the Submariner is probably the most iconic, The tropic glass, tritium plots, matte and gilt dials, whats not to love? The 5513 also produced the most variations during its 25 year production run.

This example hails from the first year of the matte dial era, between 67 and 71 the dials had the metric measurement listed first hence the term 'metres first', in 1970 Rolex swopped this around to the imperial measurement, mainly due to the fact that their biggest selling regions still operated in imperial units so this made more sense. The early examples like this had a thin layer of lume applied above a white marker.

The dial has turned pleasing creamy colour, some of the markers show signs of moisture at some point due to the dark patches. The hands retain their original tritium too except for the second hand marker which has had some stabilisation.

The long 5 insert is still present, correct for this period. The crown has been changed at service to a triplock as has the bracelet. However this 9315/380 from 72 has the PATETED error clasp which is now rather sought after.

The case has been polished in the past as you would expect for a watch of this age, but no pin poke through the lugs.

The movement has been serviced within the last year or so and is running at +5, 250 amps with a 0,3 beat error.

This is one of the most reasonably priced m first 5513's out there. A great and classic vintage piece.
