The 5513 marquee of the Submariner stands as one of the most iconic iterations, characterised by a rich tapestry of variations throughout its impressive 25-year production history. As observed in our previous offerings of the 5512 model, the 5513 follows a similar trajectory when it comes to dial modifications.
This particular example resides in the latter stage of the brief gilt dial era, a period estimated to account for approximately 4% of all 5513/5512 productions. It bears the T-25 designation, featuring a non-chapter ring configuration that predates the transition to matte dials by a few years. The dial, adorned with the long 5 bezel and original hands, remains in pristine condition. The bracelet is the correct 9315 model with 508 end links, albeit equipped with an updated clasp dated 1/72.
Notably, the ghosting effect on the bezel creates a striking contrast against the backdrop of the gilt dial and In today's increasingly challenging market, gilt-dial Submariners have become exceedingly rare finds, with complete sets often commanding prices well into the 30s and beyond.
We believe this offering represents exceptional value, positioning it as one of the most affordably priced gilt-dial Submariners available today—a watch meant to be cherished and enjoyed for generations to come.
