The Rolex Submariner 14060, introduced in 1990, marked the end of 5513's 28-year production and the transition to five-digit Submariner references, ushering in the 'neo-vintage' era. The 14060 carried several key updates - sapphire glass, COSC rated calibre 3000 movement, uni-direction bezel, significantly improving its functionality and robustness while retaining the iconic submariner's clean (no date) and symmetrical look.

The 14060 went through several key changes over its lifetime, from tritium to Luminova dial, and subsequently to the M (modified) version in 1999 which introduced Super-Luminova dial and the modern 3130 movement. The present example was one of the first 14060s made - the star of the show is the tritium markers and hands that aged to a gorgeous creamy colour, rare for 14060s and reminiscing the warm looks of a 4-digit sub. The case is in superb shape as is the full link bracelet, the clasp was changed in 1997.

The 14060 is often called 'the last of the best'. Why? Well, it is slim, robust, and still has that classic look that was never to be repeated once Rolex went to maxi cases. The watch does everything a modern sub can but with a lower profile. Moreover, unlike other sports models from the same era, the 14060 kept its drilled lugs until the end of production - great if you ever decide to change the bracelet for a leather or rubber strap.

The watch comes complete with the original booklets, wallet, inner and outer boxes, Rolex anchor, the original guarantee, and Rolex service papers from 1999 and 2002. It runs perfectly at 0 s/d, with 280 amps and 0.2 beat error. A great example of Rolex's neo-vintage classic.
