The Rolex Sea-Dweller, along with the Submariner is one of the most recognisable watches in the world. The Sea-Dweller was released in 1967 with the 1665 - the worlds first watch to feature a helium escape valve. The basic design of the Sea-Dweller is very similar to the Submariner but the most obvious differences are the lack of a date cyclops and a slightly thicker case.
The model we have here, the 16600, is the third iteration of the Sea-Dweller family. Originally released in 1988, it was in production for a whopping two decades, finally being retired in 2009.
This example is a little special - made in 2009 (the last year of production), it sat in the shop window until 2011 before the original owner purchased it. Even more astonishingly, it remains unworn until the present day, completely forgotten in the safe amongst a large collection. The watch still has all of its original stickers on, just like the day it left the shop. It still runs perfectly at +1 s/d, with 290 amps and 0.1 beat error - a perfect demonstration of Rolex's impressive engineering.
A true time capsule. The watch is fully complete with its paperwork, tags (shows the original price), inner and outer boxes, sleeve, wallet, calendar, booklets, dive extension and bezel protector.
