The Rolex Sea-Dweller, along with the Submariner is one of the most recognisable watches in the world. The Sea-Dweller began its life in 1967 with the "Double Red" 1665 - the world's first watch to feature a helium escape valve. The basic design of the Sea-Dweller is very similar to the Submariner but the most obvious differences are the lack of a date cyclops and a slightly thicker case.
The model we have here, the 16600, is the third iteration of the Sea-Dweller family. Originally released in 1988, it was in production for a whopping two decades, before being retired in 2008. This example dates back to 2007, boasting a 'SWISS MADE' super-Luminova dial, no-hole case, and solid end links which resemble modern Sea-Dwellers. However, the sleeker 40mm case profile and aluminium bezel make this unmistakably a 5-digit Rolex.
The watch is in great honest condition, with only minor marks on the case and bracelet. The dial is spotless, and the original full-link bracelet has no visible stretch. The watch has just been checked over and runs perfectly at +1 s/d, 295 amps, with a 0.3 ms beat error. A perfect neo-vintage Rolex ready for its next journey.
