The Rolex GMT Master 16753 – affectionately known in collector circles as the 'Root Beer' due to the bezel colours - was Introduced in the late 1970s, and the 16753 is not only a style icon, but a genuine tool watch to boot.

Hollywood icon and watch aficionado Clint Eastwood was known to wear the Root Beer 16753 both on and off the big screen, also earning it the nickname “The Clint Eastwood” with the watch featured on his wrist in the films Firefox, Tightrope, and In The Line Of Fire.

Housed within its 40mm case, the 16753 offers an automatic caliber 3075 movement with a quickset date and higher beat rate, an upgrade from the 1675/3. The watch is also famous for another feature, the 'Nipple Dial' - referring to the distinctive gold hour markers that protrude slightly from the dial, resembling, well... you get the idea.

What we love most about this transitional reference is the dial colouration, over time this dial has turned a warm, reddish brown with subtle tropicalisation around the markers and centre stem. With no two dials being the same, it's a conversation starter and an inherently unique piece.

The watch is all original apart from a relumed GMT marker. The tritium hands have turned a subtle off white colour, as have the tops of the nipple markers. The open 6 and 9 date wheel has patina’d as has the insert. The case has been polished in the past but displays some general wear but no dings. The G9 ( sept 82) stamped 62523 heavy link bracelet comes fully linked and with little sag.

The movement has recently been serviced and is running  at + 1s/d, 259 amps and zero beat error.
