We have a bit of a soft spot for Tapestry dials at Fathom, not just because some turn mad shades of pink like this one, but because they were some of the last dials made in the old five-digit Datejusts that were playful and different. It's amazing how much the vertical ridges make a difference to the appearance, the way the dial catches the light is very unique.
The watch itself is a 16220, this variant is equipped with an engine-turned steel bezel and the quickest date. The dial itself has had its fair share of sun exposure, displaying this wonderful deep and dark pink colour. All the lume plots are still intact and the hands are free from corrosion. The case as you can see is extremely sharp and full. The original P1 (Jan 91) stamped jubilee bracelet is in great condition with minimal stretch. It's one link short and will accommodate just under a 19cm wrist. The watch was serviced recently and is running at +4 seconds a day with a strong 255 amps with 0.3 ms beat error.
A late five digit Datejust is the perfect one watch collection or a great addition to a wider stable of watches, whilst offering fantastic value.
