We have a bit of a soft spot for Tapestry dials at Fathom, not just because some turn mad shades of pink (we've had a few this year), but because they were some of the last old five-digit Datejusts that were playful and different. It's amazing how much the vertical ridges make a difference to the appearance, the way the dial catches the light is very unique.
The watch itself is a 16220 - this variant is equipped with an engine-turned steel bezel and a quick-set date. The dial is perfect, without marks and all the lume plots are still intact. The case as you can see is extremely sharp and full. The original X code bracelet dates to 99 and has its full links. The watch was serviced recently and is running +3 seconds a day and a strong 270 amps.
The watch is complete with its box and papers.
A late five-digit Datejust is the perfect one-watch collection or a great addition to a wider stable of timepieces, whilst offering fantastic value.
