The 16000 is the last generation to have that real vintage feel within the Datejust family, the acrylic glass that sits proudly above the engine turned or fluted bezel, the holed case and creamy lume plots give it that relaxed dressy vibe whilst still looking a touch sporty.
The 16000 series houses the 3035 quickset movement making it a lot more practical than its earlier relatives. The watch has the printed 'Buckley' dial, named after John Buckley, the owner of Tuscany Rose in New York.
This example is the 16013 denoting a bi metal construction, the fluted bezel is 18k yellow gold, as are the centre links on the jubilee. The watch is in great condition, the dial has some minor spotting above the chronometer text and to the left of the 8 o'clock marker. We must stress, these are barely visible to the eye. The case was polished at its last service.
The original F8 (Aug 81) stamped 62523 bracelet retains its original links and has minimal sag. The watch comes with its inner and outer box, booklet and punched papers.
The watch has just been serviced by us and is running at 0 s/d, 300 amps with a beat error of 0.3.
