Following the success of the Seamaster 300, Omega introduced the Seamaster 120 in 1967 as an easier-to-wear and more affordable alternative. With a slim 37mm case and aluminium bezel, the SM120 wears beautifully on the wrist, not dissimilar to early Rolex Submariners.
The present example, ref. 166.027, features a gorgeous matte black dial with a date aperture at 3 o'clock. The 56-year-old watch is in incredible condition; the dial is spotless, and the lume has aged to a gorgeous creamy hue. The original aluminium insert has faded to a grey/dark blue colour, complementing the watch perfectly.
It comes on the original bracelet which is also in immaculate shape. The watch has recently been checked over, and is running perfectly at +2 s/d, 300 amps, with a 0.2 ms beat error. These late 60s SM120s are really a joy to wear.
