In 1993, after a ten year hiatus, IWC saw an opportunity to re issue a Mark series watch to the general public but using all the design aspects of the previous military issued only models. They used the simple but beautiful design of the Mark XI and added a date window at 3. Without the budget constrains of the military organisations, they upgraded the movement too, The Cal 884/2 was used which is essentially a branded JLC 889/2, a legendary movement in itself. Finally the brushed 11 link bead of rice bracelet is simply sublime, beautiful and robust at the same time. The bracelet really elevates the piece over the same models supplied on leather.
The watch is in superb condition, the dial is clean as are the hands. The 12 and 9 marker have some slight lume loss, 12 on the top right and the 9 on the bottom right.
The watch comes with its Instruction, service booklet, guarantee booklet, hang tag, and guarantee card. IWC black calfskin strap with signed tang buckle and service record from an accredited IWC service centre dated February 2025.
The watch has been freshly serviced and is running well at 0 s/d, 285 amps, with a 0.0 ms beat error.
