The Heuer Cortina launched in 1977 as part of Heuer's third generation of Caliber 12 chronographs. In doing so they left behind the outlandish and colourful designs from the early 70's and focussed on more elegant styling. Its name comes from the Italian ski town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, a town frequented by the rich and famous. Heuer wanted to add a winter sports model to the portfolio, hence the name.

Sporting a crisp white dial, the Cortina features black Roman numeral hour markers, providing a clear and sophisticated time display. The watch's dial is beautifully balanced with two black subdials for chronograph minutes and hours at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions respectively, while the date window nestles comfortably at 6 o'clock. Framing this setup, the black tachymeter scale skirting the dial's perimeter adds an additional layer of functionality and visual appeal.

Coming watch only with its original stainless-steel bracelet, the Cortina is a perfect blend of robustness and elegance. The bracelet complements the case design, providing a cohesive and polished appearance, while ensuring durability and comfort for daily wear. The dial remains a crips white, although does have two minor imperfections at 11 and 5 o'clock respectively.
